Battery storage for only £35 a month

Battery storage supplied and installed for FREE

Reduce electricity bills with battery storage

Battery PowrPlan lets you store cheap, off-peak energy at night and use it to power your home during the day, so you avoid having to pay expensive peak-time rates.1

Battery storage with zero upfront cost

Battery PowrPlan is a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) that gives you a 12.8 kWh battery installed in your home for a fixed monthly fee of only £35/month (£385/year if paid annualy). This means you can start to make savings from month one – without any upfront installation costs or ongoing maintenance requirements.

Subsidised costs makes battery storage affordable

Battery PowrPlan is so affordable because we subsidise the cost of the battery with payments received from the National Grid for helping to balance electricity demand and support a clean energy transition.

Where can residential batteries be installed?

Wondrwall batteries are IP66 rated and we recommend an external installation or in well ventilated garages if possible. LiFePO4 technology ensures Wondrwall batteries offers the highest levels of performance and safety. Installations on southern facing walls may require additional protection from direct sunlight.2

Battery technology that also offers power cut protection

In the event of a power outage, the Wondrwall 12.8 kWh battery will automatically keep your home powered, preventing disruption and keeping essential systems running for over 24 hours.

All the savings without any of the hassle

With Battery PowrPlan, you are never on your own – let Wondrwall handle everything, including DNO approval, installation and intelligent charge scheduling – while you just enjoy the savings.

Reduce your energy bills with battery storage

Monitor battery performance and savings in the Wondrwall app

Monitoring your battery performance in the Wondrwall app gives you a clear view of how the AI-powered Home Energy Management Systems is storing and using energy. By tracking real-time charge and discharge levels, you can see exactly when the battery is being used to power your home and when it’s charging from the grid – or solar panels if you have them.

The app also makes it easy to spot trends in your energy storage over time. You can identify periods of higher demand, check how your battery is performing during peak tariff hours, and ensure it’s being used efficiently – avoiding reduced savings.4

Frequently asked questions

What is the Battery PowrPlan and how does it work?

Battery PowrPlan is available to most UK home owners. It is a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) that gives you a 12.8kWh battery installed in your home at no upfront cost. The battery charges when energy is cheapest – such as overnight on an off-peak or EV tariff – and then powers your home during the day. This means you avoid paying expensive peak-time rates and reduce your monthly electricity bill.

How much does Battery PowrPlan cost?

You pay a flat £35 per month, or £385 per year if you choose to pay annually. This cost is fixed for the length of your contract and only increases each year in line with inflation. There are no hidden fees or installation costs – everything, including DNO applications and maintenance, is handled by Wondrwall.

Wondrwall can offer Battery PowrPlan at such affordable rates as the cost of the battery is subsidised with grid flexibility payments from the National Grid. These are payments earned for helping to reduce the peak load on the grid and also supporting the UK’s transition to a zero carbon energy system.

How much can I expect to save on my energy bills?

For a typical UK three-bedroom home with gas heating, you could see savings of around £60 per month on electricity bills. Larger homes or those using electric heating (such as heat pumps or electric heaters) may see even greater savings. However, actual savings depend on your energy usage and tariff, so reductions cannot be guaranteed.

Do I need solar panels to benefit from the Battery PowrPlan?

No, you don’t need solar panels to take advantage of the Battery PowrPlan. The battery stores cheap, off-peak energy from the grid that you can use during the day. However, if you do have solar panels, the battery can also store your excess solar power, giving you even greater savings.

Do I need to be on a specific energy tariff for Battery PowrPlan?

To maximise your savings, we recommend being on a time-of-use tariff that offers cheaper off-peak electricity. The battery will automatically charge during these low-cost periods and supply your home during peak hours. If you’re not already on a suitable tariff, our team can guide you on how to switch.

Can I cancel my Battery PowrPlan contract?

Battery PowrPlan is designed to give you long-term stability in your energy costs. You have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date you sign the contract, during which you can cancel at any time. Midway through the contract, you’ll have a choice: either continue with the monthly payments or pay a settlement fee based on the hardware’s remaining value at that point.

If you decide to move home, your Battery PowrPlan contract can be transferred to the new owner, helping to enhance the value of your property. Wondrwall will support you with the contract transfer during the sale process.

Where can batteries be installed?

Wondrwall batteries are IP66 rated and we recommend an external installation (a well-ventilated garage is also possible). Installations on south-facing walls may require additional protection from direct sunlight.

Internal installations are possible but this will require additional works to ensure all current installation guidelines are met. These additional costs will be charged separately from the standard installation that is included in your PowrPlan agreement.

Are batteries safe and is there a risk of fire?

Our battery is certified with IEC 62619. As part of this test, the battery has demonstrated that a thermal runaway event will be contained within the battery and will not cause a fire. Advanced monitoring can notify Wondrwall of a potential issue roughly 2 weeks in advance.

What is a DNO registration and why does it take so long?

All batteries need to be registered with the DNO (District Network Operator). This helps them forecast the electricity demand and keep the electricity network stable. Solar PV installations and EV chargers have the same requirement. As the Wondrwall battery provides a high 6 kW peak discharge rate, we need a special permission which takes longer to achieve. The 6 kW discharge rate is required to provide adequate power for the home in the event of a power cut.
